The Metzeler Sportec M7 RR Motorcycle Tyre boasts an impressive specification that’s sure to get appeal to any bike rider.
- Sporty handling regardless of conditions
- Grip in all conditions from 100% silica compound
- Extended mileage compared to Sportec M5
The Metzeler Sportec M7 RR Motorcycle Tyre has been engineered to empower true riders thanks to Metzeler’s experience in prestigious Road Racing events such as the IoM TT, the North West 200, the Southern 100 and the Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix. The Tyre has been constructed from a 100% silica compound, combined with a special tread pattern. This gives the M7 RR the unique capability to maintain the sporty riding style, even in cold, wet and greasy conditions. Features that allow for this include the wide, open grooves in the tread on both the front and rear tyre to allow for efficient water drainage. There is also a higher percentage of grooves which are varied in depth and width on the tyre to allow for water drainage to occur from the first lean angle up to the highest. The variable depth and width in the grooves also increase lateral ‘push’ when riding in dry conditions.
To gain more grip in acceleration, the design of the tyre features a central slick strip so that more rubber is in contact with the ground. This also allows for regular wear of the tyre.
The tyre provides the rider with improved sporty handling, and transmits a feeling of safety whilst riding – this can be experienced regardless of the road conditions. The tyres feature road racing derived profiles and high stiffness, which when combined offer razor sharp agile handling.
This tyre offers 20% more mileage compared to the Sportex M5 Interact. A dual compound solution on rear sizes allows the use of a specific material on the central slick portion of the tread pattern to increase abrasion resistance and extend the mileage capability.
The Front Tyres feature a single full silica compound with excellent chemical grip. The Rear Tyre has a dual-compound construction with a 40% – 20% – 40% layout. The tyre features a high silica central stripe for high-speed stability and mileage, and there is also a full silica side stripe for excellent chemical grip in the wet, similar to what is found on the front.
Proving the high quality of this tyre, it has won the several awards in Germany, and the MCN (UK) Test Winner in 2016.
