The DIABLO ROSSO ™ SCOOTER SC is characterized by a true racing profile that leads to an immediate and linear drop in lean, facilitating quick changes of direction. With increasing lean angles, the behaviour of the tyre is increasingly progressive and linear, thanks to the support of the shoulder area, characterized by a wider radius of curvature which acts as a sophisticated shock absorber, controlling the deformation of the tyre.
The tread pattern of the DIABLO ROSSO ™ SCOOTER SC takes inspiration from that of the DIABLO ROSSO ™ SCOOTER, further optimized for racing use, with narrower and shorter grooves, positioned differently from one side to the other (with less repetition along the rolling circumference). This change reduces the void / solid ratio by up to 4.1%, in line with racing tyres for motorcycles approved for road use.
The patented tread pattern in the shape of the “flash” is the reference point for all Pirelli sports products, precisely because of its water drainage and wear optimization properties:. It represents an effective and proven solution for combining tread compactness, void / solid ratio, pattern orientation and drainage. All of this, together with a high-performance compound capable of absorbing the roughness of the asphalt, makes the DIABLO ROSSO ™ SCOOTER SC suitable for racing even in wet conditions.
The compound is very similar to that used on the DIABLO ™ SUPERCORSA SC2. The softer part made entirely of Carbon Black is mixed with low thermoplastic polymers that increase the versatility of use conditions, allowing a wide range of operating temperatures to the tyre. The softness of the compound interacts with the roughness of the asphalt with great effectiveness and guarantees excellent grip and lean reliability.
The use of tyre warmers is also commonly used in Pit Bike, Mini GP or Racing Scooter races and their use with the DIABLO ROSSO ™ SCOOTER SC is highly recommended for better stability of the pressures, but it is not mandatory. Quick warm-up that characterizes the compound of this tyre, and its wide range of operating temperatures make it suitable for use, if necessary, without tyre warmers.
