The Bike Tyre Guru - Season 01 Episode 02
In this episode of The Bike Tyre Guru, John Harris tests the BATT X Terrain Adventure Tyres.
John and a few mates went off to do the Eco 4×4 Trail along the Orange River in the Northern Cape. John took the BMW1250GS, newly fitted with the BATT X Terrains, some camping gear and supplies for a few days.
A great time was had by all – the sand varied from deep to very deep, and there were a LOT of rocks and hilly climbs. This tyre is great on thick sand and held up very well on the rocky climbs, even with the extra 35 kg camping baggage load on a 1250GS.
The last part of the trip was on hard-packed wide open gravel road and invited speeds questionable by most adventure riders.
John says taking into consideration the extra loads they carried, and definitely not adhering to the tyre’s speed rating, he’ll definitely use this tyre. The BATT X Terrains are lasting longer than the original tyres he used to fit, and from a price point the BATT X Terrains are great value for money. John also says he gets about 2000kms from his normal go-to tyre; he’s already done more than 2000kms on the BATT X Terrains and there’s still a lot of life left in the tyres.
